Official Visit of the ASAN Service Delegation to Romania Led by Ulvi Mehdiyev
A delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is on an official visit to Bucharest at the invitation of the Secretary General of the Government of Romania.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation visited the monument of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, located in Tey Park in Bucharest. Flowers were laid at the monument, and deep respect was paid to the memory of the Great Leader.
The delegation of the State Agency participated in the “Innovation Forum in the Public Sector,” organized by the General Secretariat of the Government of Romania.
During the opening session, the Chairman of the State Agency delivered remarks on the role of innovation and modern technologies in increasing the efficiency of public services and provided information about the work carried out by ASAN Service in this direction.
Within the framework of the forum, presentations were held on innovative solutions implemented in Romania’s public service sector, followed by an award ceremony for selected projects.
At the initiative and invitation of the Romanian Government, ASAN Service took part in evaluating and awarding the projects implemented in Romania in the field of public services for the current year. Based on the advanced achievements of the ASAN Service model in introducing innovations and digital solutions in public service delivery, one of the winners of the competition was selected by the State Agency, and the specially established “ASAN Award” was presented to the winner.
The recipient of the special “ASAN Award” was a project implemented by the city of Iași. Representatives of the award-winning project and the leadership of Iași will have the opportunity to visit Azerbaijan and become acquainted with the ASAN Service model on site.
It should be particularly noted that this is the first time the ASAN Award has been presented to representatives of a European Union member state. In previous years, the award was conferred upon representatives of countries in Africa that achieved significant progress in public service delivery.
Within the forum, a special session dedicated to ASAN Service was also held, during which the representative of the State Agency delivered an extensive presentation on Azerbaijan’s advanced practices in the relevant field.
Gudsi Osmanov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania, also took part in the meetings and events held during the visit.
