Within the framework of the series of events dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the passing away of National Leader Heydar Aliyev a memorial ceremony was held in Bucharest

On December 13, 2018, within the framework of the series of events dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the passing away of National Leader Heydar Aliyev a memorial ceremony was held in Bucharest, organized by the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Romania.

Within the event held at the conference hall of Ramada Hotel in Bucharest, there was organized photo and book exhibition reflecting the life and activity of the National Leader. Then the event was continued with the official part.

Firstly, the National Leader's memory was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania Huseyn Najafov gave detailed information on the life and activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and noted that the whole part of Azerbaijan's new history is related to the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state the name of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, the wisdom, the experience of political and statehood, the invincible will of the Great Leader save our country has been split was mentioned.

Ambassador H.Najafov noted that the political line of Heydar Aliyev, which has exceptional services in solving the history of the Azerbaijani people and its destiny, is successfully being continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Chairman of Apparatus of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dashgin Rajabli spoke at the event about the statehood, Azerbaijani ideology and unprecedented contribution on Diaspora Affairs of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev

Honorary guest of the event Emil Constantinescu, former President of Romania, shared his memories about the Great Leader, talked about personal qualities such as wisdom, determination, political vision, realism and innovation belonging to the National Leader, and emphasized Heydar Aliyev's an indispensable role on the development of relations between the two countries.

At the end of the event, documentary film "Moments of Great Life" dedicated to the life and activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was screened.

Members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Romanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Group Georgi Dinu Sokotar, members of the Romanian Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, professors and students of Bucharest University, employees of “SOCAR Petroleum SA”, Azerbaijanis who are living and studying in Romania attended the event.
