Magnificent Concerts in Bucharest Conducted by Fuad Ibrahimov
Renowned Azerbaijani artist Fuad Ibrahimov conducted a series of outstanding concerts in Bucharest. The performances took place at one of the city’s most prestigious music venues, the George Enescu Concert Hall, featuring the Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra under Mr. Ibrahimov’s leadership.
The program included selected masterpieces of world classical music. Audiences enjoyed Claude Debussy’s “L’après-midi d’un faune” and the world-famous first violin concerto by distinguished composer Sofia Gubaidulina, dedicated to legendary violinist Gidon Kremer, who performed as the soloist on both evenings.
The concerts also featured “Don Quixote” symphonic sketches by prominent Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev and a suite from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet “The Firebird” (1919 version). The performance of Garayev’s work by one of Romania’s leading orchestras highlighted Azerbaijani musical culture on the international stage.
The events were attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Romania Gudsi Osmanov, embassy staff, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Romania, as well as local music enthusiasts and notable public figures.
Fuad Ibrahimov serves as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, as well as Principal Conductor of the New Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Baku Chamber Orchestra. His performances on Europe’s leading music stages significantly enhance the reputation of Azerbaijani conducting.
These concerts in Bucharest not only showcased Azerbaijani culture at the highest level but also contributed to the further development of cultural ties between our countries.
